One: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Many: We were not there in the beginning.

In the beginning, God created it all and saw that it was good.

We were not there in the beginning.

In the desert, God fed the people one day at a time.

We were not in the desert.

God is our God forever.

Let us not forget the beginning; let us remember that we are not the end.

One: God said that it was good.

Let us not forget that in the beginning, it was good; let us remember that we must keep it so.

God gives us this day our daily bread.

Let us not forget the desert; let us remember that we can live without excess.

God is our Lord, we must not worship other idols.

Let us not forget the temple; let us remember to worship God.

In the beginning, God created it all and saw that it was very good.

Hallelujah! And may it be so.
